Product Information
Magnesium glycinate is a chelate in which magnesium is bound to the amino acid glycine. Fully reacted magnesium bisglycinate contains about 14% elemental magnesium by weight, so grades above that level are typically buffered with another magnesium source; check the composition on the specification. The catalog lists grades at 12% to 14%, a 13% to 14% chelate, 18% to 22%, and 20% magnesium. Because the elemental yield is modest, it takes more capsule or tablet space per unit of magnesium than oxide or carbonate. It is a fine white powder that can carry a slight metallic note in unflavored liquids.
