Product Information
Allulose, also called D-psicose, is a rare sugar found in small amounts in foods such as figs, raisins and maple syrup and produced commercially from corn or other starches by enzymatic conversion. It tastes much like sugar at about 70 percent of the sweetness, and unlike most sugar replacers it browns and caramelizes in baking. In the United States, FDA guidance allows allulose to be excluded from total and added sugars on the Nutrition Facts label and labeled at 0.4 calories per gram, which is why it is used in reduced-sugar and keto-style products.
