Banaba, Lagerstroemia speciosa, is a flowering tree native to Southeast Asia, often called giant crape myrtle, whose leaves have traditionally been brewed as a tea in the Philippines. The extract is standardized to corosolic acid, a triterpenoid. The catalog lists grades at 1%, 15% and 20% corosolic acid by HPLC. Corosolic acid has poor water solubility, so the extract is mainly used in capsules and tablets rather than clear beverages.
