Product Information
Rhodiola rosea, sometimes called golden root or arctic root, grows in cold, high-altitude and northern regions of Europe and Asia and has a history of traditional use in Scandinavia and Russia. The extract is made from the root and rhizome. Rosavins are the marker compounds most specific to Rhodiola rosea, while salidroside also occurs in other Rhodiola species, so specifying both helps confirm identity. The catalog lists grades from 1% salidroside up to 5% rosavins with 2% salidroside, measured by HPLC. The powder can be slightly hygroscopic, so it is best kept and processed at low humidity.
